paracord 550

I'm in the process of making survival kits and i'm looking for paracord 550 seven strand 550lbs strength. I've tried several surplus stores to no avail. some have 400lb test but i would like to get the recomended 550 lb test. any info on this would be appreciated, thankyou.........mister c

What are you putting in your kits? Would you mind giving a list?

actually i'm still in the process of making up the survival kit, but paracord 550 is on the list......mister c

kvolk.....I came across a november 2005 field and stream mag that has three nice kits. a pocket kit, the day hunter, the wilderness hunter and a make your own. there are several good sites that list survival kits. I like to start with the basics like fire starting, cover for shelter,water purification and so on. a good first aid kit is manditory and first aid knowhow. Myself i carry a few days of my medications with me also a means of communication, i take a cell phone and we have 2 way radios. I hope this has been some help to you....................mister c

But be careful, there are other "paracords" that are not 550. This "fakes" often come in many bright colors. Be sure to get the real stuff
