I didn't know where to put this but I thought flintknapping might be a good place.

I was wondering about jewelry, how did people make the small holes in pebbles/seashells/bone so that they could put them on a string?
Would be very interesting to know about the technique and perhaps how to make the tool itself.

well I think in modern times everyone uses an electric drill but in primitive times I think they would use a pump drill I know those drill through bone they also can make fire.

ive heard of a method that people have used where they would take a sharp pointed thin knife and carve a circle that makes the shell just thin enough to break the inside of the ciricle out to make a hole. ill try it sometime.
