Baskets

Various materials may be used to make baskets by "twining." This refers to the process of weaving a basket using thin stems of plants and vines.

Common twining materials are:

  • Shrubs: Wild Raisin, Nannyberry, Red Osier Dogwood, Willow

  • Vines: Grape, Virginia Creeper

  • Other Plants: Cattails

See also the Clothing section, as primitive clothing is sometimes made from woven materials, much the same as baskets.
